TRESSCOX LAWYERS has awarded scholarships to three law students in their penultimate year who, due to financial disadvantage or personal circumstances, are finding it difficult to continue their law studies.

The winners of the $2,000 scholarships were Hannah Bushell from the University of Technology, Sydney, Ashkan Kebriti from the University of New South Wales and Alexander Skinner from the University of Sydney.

The scholarships were presented at a lunch hosted by TressCox, and academic staff from the students’ universities were present to show their support.

This is the 17th year TressCox has assisted law students.

“Whilst it is one of the largest monetary scholarship awards provided by a law firm in Australia, the benefits are not only financial. Previous winners have participated in our summer clerkship program and gone on to pursue diverse legal careers, with some joining TressCox,” said the firm’s managing partner, Peter Smith, in a statement.

The winners will also be interviewed for the firm’s summer clerkship program.
